As promised, here are a couple of shots of the young bull moose and caribou that we found on the trip to Alaska recently.
Ive also thrown in a shot of Jerome with his king salmon caught on the Kenai river. We had a few good meals out of this fish.

The spring hunting is still good with plenty of deer about. Carsten came for a visit from Denmark and when asked what he wanted, his instructions were simple, " I want to go hunting".
We headed out on the first afternoon for a red deer hunt and were rewarded with a perfect day. We did some bush stalking and Carsten bagged a nice red stag in velvet as he pushed through some ferns towards up on his way out for dinner.
He then decided he wanted to hunt a chamios but didnt want to fly in, he wanted to do it "Kiwi style". No worries, we headed off down the west coast.
First thing the next morning we made our way up a creek bed and found a nice buck finding breakfast on a grassy slip. One well placed shot by Carsten and he had himself a nice 9inch buck sporting a rather trendy hair-do. Turns out he had been picking a fight with some native grasses and had tied it in a knot over his horns. First Chamios I've seen with dread locks.

Well Carsten was pretty happy with that but he still wanted more so after a quick visit ot the glacier we headed home and up the hill the next day to see what the pigs and goats were up to.
Another 2 shots (or was it 3?) and he had himself a nice pair of matching billy goats and it was off to look for hogs.
Just before dark 4 pigs made their way out of the bush and slightly closer towards us. We hatched out a good game plan and it was all on. After a good stalk closer we found them again in some broken Manuka. The sow presented for a shot but wasnt too happy witha bullet clipping the whiskers on her chin so they didnt wait around for a photo. 4 out of 5 aint too bad Carsten. :-)

Remember, THE ROAR IS COMING, so give us a call and book in. We have a new block to hunt in the Rai and last year the stags were going off their heads.
If you're in Denmark and would like to find out more then Carsten would love to hear from you and can be contacted on 45-48319073.

The Sumner family came down from Auckland recently and wanted a taste of goat hunting. After giving these two a warning shot Greg, Alex and Andrew all managed to get in on the action. Andrew might be smiling but I think after we dressed the goats out he was considering becoming a vegetarian.
